Trial documents concerning ownership of the carrying place at Little Niagara, 1763-1824.

Affadavit of Francis Goring regarding his knowledge of John Stedman and the carrying place, sworn 4 Feb. 1824; a letter from Stedman to Goring, 23 Nov. 1779, enclosing his estimate of houses and stock at Little Niagara (trial exhibits "B" and "A" respectively); and a note from Capt. H. W. Arnot, 46th Regiment , Niagara, to John Bradstreet, Washington, 16 Nov. 1763, certifying that John Stedman has been employed in his Majesty's service for two days in transporting stores and provisions over the carrying place. The earlier documents were part of a court case involving Augustus Porter, James Jackson, John Sparkman, David Chapman, and others.
